September 11th, 2000 - It's coming, and it looks as though it's going to be more polished than previously thought.

Taking a look at the screenshots below makes us think of the bright and colourful Final Fantasy VI more than the primitive Final Fantasy first seen in 1987 on the humble NES. But with this 16-bit overhaul, will we be seeing improvements in more than just the looks? The few of you that have played Final Fantasy I will remember that everything's a little simple with lack of character development and simplistic game mechanics. It will be interesting to see what else Square will tinker with.
