Final Fantasy IX
'Consumer Demo'

September 7th, 2000 - Good news if you live on the west coast of the United States of America - bad if you live in the rest of the world. For one day only, SquareSoft are doing a 'consumer demo day' for Final Fantasy IX... in San Francisco. The one-off special at a PlayStation Store is on Saturday October 7th and SquareSoft suggest that you come 'dressed showing off your Final Fantasy pride'. Prizes will also be available, so make sure you go (yes, that's you three people from San Francisco that will read this announcement ~_^). Click here to view the official details.

... But if you live in the U.K.
At Square's first stop at London in their tour of Europe (September 9th - this coming Saturday), they will be showing the first footage of the English version of Final Fantasy IX... or so they say. Watch this space to see if they do.

If you entered Daily Rader UK's competitition to win tickets for the Square shindig in London, check this page to see if you won!

U.S. Front Cover

Square Electronic Arts have announced that Final Fantasy IX will hit U.S. shelves in 'mid-November', which makes it a bit more official. No news on the European release as of yet, but you can pretty much bet that it will arrive before Christmas. Click here to see the official press release.

Also revealed is the North American box art, and it seems SquareSoft have taken the same route as with Final Fantasy VIII's U.S. front cover: the character / colourful look as opposed to the Japanese's simplicity.
