Sexier, Deadlier and Back on PS2 - Yuna

It's an exciting time for Final Fantasy fans. With my recent article on the sequel to Final Fantasy X, and alhana's article on the possible sequel to Final Fantasy VII, more exciting news has emerged from the secret labyrinths of the Squaresoft chambers on the groundbreaking Final Fantasy X-2, the first FF title in the main series to break from
The last time Final Fantasy: Worlds Apart told you of the sequel to Final Fantasy X, we informed you that Yuna would be the main character, with the ability to jump and use a machine gun. Since then, Squaresoft have kindly confirmed many more things, including returning information on returning characters, new characters, gameplay, airships, and... bikinis!

Rikku & Yuna take centre stage in the new FF

Sadly the return of Tidus, Auron, Kimahri Ronso, Lulu and Wakka has not been comfirmed to date. However Rikku is back and looking better then ever! Goodbye borrowed Quistis Trepe top, hello sexy shorts and bra. And she's not the only one wearing less, lovers of pixelated ladies had a sensational treat recently when we revealed a picture of Yuna proving that less is definitely more! *drools* ...ahem! Brother is back, you remember him, Rikku's brother, Cid's son? He's still the airship pilot and rumour has it that the Al Bhed geezer will become a playable character. Sqauresoft has so far comfirmed that there will be eight playable characters, three of which are Yuna, Rikku and Pine. Pine is a new character who is *gasp* another female lead. Never since Final Fantasy V has a Final Fantasy had so many female leads.

The game focuses around a band known as "The Seagull Band", which has its own airship, The Celcius, which is accessable from the start of the game. The Celcius is not the only mode of transport however, Yuna follows in the footsteps of Cloud by riding a motorbike with an Al Bhed, she sure knows how to enjoy life! Whilst it is not clear what the band does, guesses are that they are either music artists or a group similar to the Crusaders.
The gameplay will be typical of the series with turn based battles and random encounters, (speaking of which, many of the same machina return, the Al Bhed robots from Luca and the Bevelle robots). It is not known yet if the Active Time Barrier will be back, but there will only be three characters in battles.
Do you remember Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy Tactics? If so you will remember the job system. Well rumour has it the job system will return, meaning that at the push of a button Yuna can become a black mage, a knight or a chemist. As we said before, Yuna can jump, not quite over the moon but at least she is the first jumping character since Cloud Strife.
Once again, the game will be set in Spira. Due to the fact that the first game didn't let us explore every nook and cranny, it is obvious that there will be many more places to visit as well as all the old haunts. The Highroads return, which means that onece again there probably won't be a world map. A tropical city (Killika?) is present with a Bevelle look alike. Temples also make a return if these pictures are anything to go by.
